If there is a place in Lisbon you'll find indians, arabs and a lot of another nationalities its in Martim Moniz.
It used to be the place where the Moors were located (outside the Castle and the old city) and today it has this monuments that remind us how it was the life in this Quarter, where Fado was sang.

Retratos de fadistas.

Some Fado's singers who gave life to these streets.

The place where Maria Severa lived.

O famoso quadro "Fado, José Malhoa".

The paint, "Fado, José Malhoa" in one of the streets of Mouraria. An honour to the first singer of Fado that we have heard,

The modern art can obviously fit very well the old quarters. This beautiful piece of art bring us to the origins of fado, a song that was linked prostitution.

#Tascas#UmaBoaEscolha.

Tascas it's a litlle typical restaurant where it fits around 10 people inside it. This one is really nice especially for foreigners because you'll find the environent of a quarter if you get in. It has the typical food and more important, you will find the quarter inhabitants working in here (that old lady that works here for 30/40 years... :) ) - that's what you find in Tascas.

Rua do Regedor, perto do Largo de São Cristovão.

Regedor's Street, close to São Cristovão's Square.
